Stacy Silverman

Stacy Silverman's career includes over 20 years of experience in social work, outdoor education, adult training, coaching, and management of out-of-school time opportunities. Silverman was introduced to The Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality when it was the adolescent division of the High/Scope Educational Research Foundation in 2002 and has remained involved over the years due to a deep desire to increase access to high quality youth development opportunities. Originally from Flint, MI, Silverman has served the community and young people as a mental health case worker, a juvenile justice program afterschool director, as a therapeutic wilderness instructor and as a course director for Outward Bound and Eckerd Youth Alternatives. In 2006, Silverman began coaching programs using the YPQI approach and has spent the past decade designing Quality Standards for Afterschool, trainings and technical supports to broaden understanding and enhance understanding. Silverman was a trainer and afterschool program assessor during the YPQA validation study and has been designing and facilitating quality initiatives for afterschool providers, intermediaries and government agencies throughout Florida since 2009.

Silverman works for KinderCare Education as Senior Quality and Accreditation Advisor for Champions afterschool programs. Through his work as founder and CEO of the Youth Development Training Collaborative, Silverman collaborates with international organizations in order to integrate music and service while benefiting out of school time programs.
